Five places to play pickleball in Vallejo, from free, dedicated city-park courts to a reservation-only set on Mare Island. Two of the five — a newer indoor gym and a membership club — need a phone call to confirm current pickleball hours.
Two dedicated, lighted courts at a North Vallejo park, with restrooms, parking, bocce courts, and a ball field on-site. Free to play and reservable, though hours and skill level aren't posted. One thing to watch on the address: the courts are at 401 Amador St — 395 Amador St, which you may see listed, is actually the Greater Vallejo Recreation District's (GVRD) administrative office a block away.
Four free, resurfaced courts with dedicated pickleball lines and nets, plus restrooms, water, and a playground. It's also known as "Glen Cove School Park," since it sits next to Glen Cove Elementary. The courts are unlighted, so plan for daylight play. Use 605 Glen Cove Pkwy for directions — the 501 address you'll sometimes see belongs to the school next door.
Three dedicated acrylic courts, plus a separate court on-site shared between tennis and basketball that isn't counted here. Run by the Mare Island Company, a private master-developer for the district rather than the city — free to play, but access is gated through an online reservation system (CourtReserve), with reservation windows roughly 7 or 8am to 8pm daily, and players with a booking get priority over walk-ons. Not to be confused with the separate, unrelated "Mare Island Sports Complex" nearby on the same street, which is closed.
Three indoor courts with portable nets in a converted former middle-school gym. The schedule is genuinely unsettled: it mixes GVRD-program blocks, reservation-only windows, and open basketball that isn't pickleball at all, and adult pickleball league sessions have been cancelled in the past. Pricing isn't posted either — check gvrd.org/gvrd-sports-gym or call GVRD directly before heading over.
Four outdoor courts at an In-Shape Fitness club — membership required, though day passes are available at the door. This address previously operated as "Millennium Sports Club Vallejo," and you may still see it listed under that old name — that's a rebrand, not a closure. The same address is now an active In-Shape Fitness location with a dedicated pickleball page. To be safe, call ahead to (707) 244-8060 to confirm pickleball is still offered before making a special trip.
